What is it?
Base Training is an essential component of the pilot’s Type Rating program as it is undertaken after the complete of the Skills Test. The training is conducted in a controlled environment under the close supervision of experienced flight instructors, who guide the student pilots through every phase of the flight. The instructors impart valuable knowledge, skills, and techniques on the student pilot.
The objective of Base Training is to provide the pilot with hands-on experience that simulation cannot replicate. It also helps pilots to build muscle memory, enhance spatial awareness, and develop confidence.
During Base Training, pilots take to the skies in the real aircraft to prove their handling skills and their proficiency in the aircraft by performing a certain number of take-offs and landings and 1 go-around manoeuvre depending on previous jet aircraft experience. Pilot will perform visual patterns while flying manually the entire time to really get a feel for the aircraft
After completion of the Base Training the license with the valid Type Rating will then be issued by the authorities to the pilot, allowing them the rights to commercially operate the Aircraft Type for an Airline.
